Lost all 12v on the port side. GM 350/ OMC260. Ideas?
Twice last week I ran the boat and after the run, when I shut the port down, I had no 12v at the helm when I went to restart the boat. Both times, I was able to tighten up the ground at the battery on that side, and I got 12v back.
There WAS a bad connector on that ground wire. I replaced it. But now for a third time I have nothing. And it isn't that ground. Ground is tight on the block, too.
I didn't have my VOM with me, but I connected the SB battery over on the port side just to make sure it wasn't a dead battery.
My main ignition fuse is good. The connector on the 12v pos leads on starter are tight. The main mass connector on the block is clean and tight.
I wonder if it could be shorting in the starter.
I'm going to go try again tomorrow. Any suggestions?
Thanks.
