I found a big improvement for a reasonable investment by:

-Crower Corvette LT-1 grind cam/roller rockers of course/rods

-Edelbrock Performer EPS Intake Manifolds

-600 or 800 cfm Thunder series Edelborck carbs

-You can mill the heads .010 to boost compression .5 or go with new performance heads too.

Without heads expect 20% or 60 HP gains with heads 80-100 HP

Speed increase 3-5 MPH

You guys must have different gear ratios in your outdrives.

Here are some general guidelines...

It cost $1000 for each additional 1 MPH.

If you look at an internal compustion engine as a huge air pump, then you want to increase airflow both into and out of the engine. A low restriction flame arrestor and after-market manifolds will help with that. Once you get more air into the engine, you need to add more gas. This means a bigger carb or a new ECM program.

The BEST bang for your buck is to add a supercharger. I have a Whipple, and I love it!

Good luck!

Fuelish, Scarabs seem to have less of a slip percentage the Formulas do. By the way nice name.....
