Fund- I run the boat as light as possible all the time. Nothing but safety and a full cooler. Scottc- I have more room up front to move the winch post but the rear rollers are at the end of the hull. I'll see if I can find a side view pic. to show a little more. I'm afraid the axles need to move rearward.

Why not move the winch post forward AND move the rear rollers forward also?!!!!! This seems so simple, that there has to be something I'm missing here.

Yeah, I could, but, if you look close the rear roller cross support is at the end of the side rails. Can I move that up without a problem with support. Also how much further forward. 6" ?? The next hole in the side rail is 12", is that too much? This procedure would be much easier.Thoughts?

From the pics, you are way tail heavy. I would try all of the above moving the boat foward. Then, try moving the axles back. The pain with moving the axles, is making sure they are aligned straight and do not start tearing up tires.

The frame has adjustment holes for a bolt to go through where the spring brackets line up. As long as each frame rail is the same lenght, I should be ok? Plus if I put 100 miles on in a season,that would be alot. The tires will dry rot before then. If the whole thing is 5000#, 500# on the tonuge?

Sounds like your trailer is very adjustable, and you could go either way. Personally, I'd try to not move the axles, as that seems to have more room for serious problems. Don't know what you pull it with, but I always favor more tongue weight than less, within reason. Yes, if the whole rig weighs 5000, than 500 on the tongue is 10%. Some claim on a boat you can be as light as 5%, but I'll bet that applies more to heavier boats, as with yours that would only be 250 lbs.

Move the bow stand and rear roller forward a foot and see how that makes the truck squat in the rear.

Or, don't laugh, add wight to the tongue of the trailer. If any OSOer's see a 240 Chriscraft going down the road with cinder blocks tied to the trailer tongue, be sure to wave!

How about some cement bags in rear of the bed. I'm towing with GMC 2500HD 8.1- Ally, love it.
