Default Hydromotive Guad4X vs Bravo 1

I will be adding to my prop collection and was wondering if anyone can compare the Hydromotive Quad 4X to the Bravo 1. I'm down in the 24" pitch range. on my 24' Daytona with ~450 HP. The Daytona wants alot of bow lift to air out so I am most interested in this characteristic. I hear the Hydromotive has slightly more rack that may provide the lift I need.

I tested the QIV X on my V-bottom against the bravo 1 and P5X. It did not perform well at all in my application. It had a ton of slip all the way to WOT and ran about 4 MPH slower than the Bravo prop. On the other hand the P5X worked beautifully.

my boat seems to run better with the hydro qiv 33 over a bravo 34.2% less slip and 2 mph quicker with the hydro in my testing on a 29 kryptonite.everyone with different hulls will have a diferent opinion.you will need to talk to somone with your boat who has tested props or give em both a try.

May be, I just have the reg hydro 4 blades and love the holeshot and mid range. Mine are 29's and I need about 27 because I can only spin them 4500 which is 78-80 on my speedo. I also run the 27" bravos and they are prob is a better props for my 29 fountain but cruising 60 at 3500 is hard to beat,,,for a poor boy like me anyway. But really this is fun and games,,,someone with your boat needs to chime in or you need to do some trials(trials might surprise you as to what YOU like)

i try'd a 29 quad-4,everthing was pretty much the same 2-300 rpm's less,but for some reason i was alway's at 0 boost no matter what rpm's you try'd to cruise at.other prop's i have run are alway's around 6-8" of vacuum cruisin,(27 3 blade,28 bravo-1,both labbed)many many gallons of gas w/the hydro,like wow,i bet 4x's the amount,just something to throw into the mix..

one other thing the box stock hydro blew out on corners, that one now hangs on the wall, maybe over the winter i'll send it out to be labbed.

The Quad IVX is a different blade design than the Quad IV. It is a round ear design and tends to lift the bow similar to a Bravo 1. Like any prop they work well on some boats but not on all boats.

Attached is a picture of the Quad IVX
