compression, PSI
What should/would the compression of a 330 hp BB Chev be, with factory flat tops, std bore and Vortec L29 heads if everything was new? 160 psi or more? Has anyone cc'd these chambers, they look small maybe 105cc? Thanx, Andy...

Re: compression, PSI
They are small.I had a 454 that cold cranked at 180 psi.with a 224/230 cam installed at 106 atdc.Be carful with these heads on a carb motor as they will detonate really easy.Use about 28* total timming. As you bring the commpresion ratio up don't be conservative with the cam or you can get into a high cylinder pressure situation. These heads on trucks use a computer managment system to cool things down fast when detonation occurs.
