That's a condo. You need some real power and drives!

Check out the Sept(?) issue of Powerboat. Tony Adams boat Blown Away, he put big motors and Arnisons in and he's seeing 100+.

There is a thread on here somewhere about it too.

I personally like the boat a lot. If I had one and money was no object to a point I would Whipple it up to 800 HP/engine and put a pair of those Arneson/Bravo conversions on it.
I know it may not be a treat to dock but too bad...

That should get her up in the 95's+ anyday of the week I would think.

I have noticed that Formulas respond very well to Arneson drives. Arnesons and big HP love those hulls.

Friend of mine had a late 90's 353 with HP500 carb motors. It ran 79-81 depending on fuel load. He put 420 Megablowers and dual 600 Holleys on it. Boat ran 92 with people and full of fuel. Ran a best of 96 with a splash of fuel and two guys all crouched down watching the GPS.

How fast you need to go?

The procharger setup with reworked props and crouching below the windshield should do it......Just remember that its not a drag boat or you'll kill the outdrives. Or you could just buy a lighter, faster boat and give up some of the things that make your boat so comfortable.

We put Vortech blowers on a 35 Fountain this summer and went from 85 to 100 GPS. Boost at 6 psi, estimated 700 HP. Drives were changed to XRs at the same time. The 353 will not be as fast with the same power and drives. Can the XZ be converted to XR?

Tom,if you put the straightcut xr upper gears and 1 1/4 xr propshafts in a xz you have a xr. I'm not sure but the xz might also have the smaller bravo ujoint/yoke assembly but i'm using the smaller ujoint/yoke on one of my outdrives and the 700 plus ft lbs torque has never broke it,Smitty
