Default Closed Cooling

Has anyone ever installed the closed cooling system tha CP Performance sells? For about $700.00 it seems to be a small price to pay for a steady engine temp not to mention the elimination of rust and corrosion in the engine.

A lot of folks sell closed cooling--and they're all about same price. The coolest thing I've seen lately is a COMPOSITE heat exchanger instead of an aluminum or steel exchanger.

I can't remember the manufacturer butif you're interested, I'll look for it--

I've got closed colling on my Formula--wouldn't consider a boat without --

I got a system for about $650.00 and I mounted it on the floor instead of on the intake. So far it works great and keeps the engine at 170 running temps. Most of the systems are made to mount off of the intake so keep that in mind when you order one.

Cdog, who's system did you purchase? Was it a problem to bleed the air from it?

I bought my system at www.cool-craft.net . Before I run the boat I check out the coolant level. Usually have to add less than a cup of water. What I did was add one of those Moroso cap deals that are made for cap less radiators and oviously mounted it up high. You can get them at summit or at jegs. They use them alot for drag racing. I also used a billet swivel water neck to point the hose toward the valve cover and used wire reinforsed hose. Once you mount the heat exchanger below the water neck on the intake you can't open up the radiator cap on the heat exchanger. Damm Gravity! So you get access from the Moroso unit mounted off of the water neck.Talk to the owner over there at Cool-craft. He's a real cool guy and has been real easy to talk to so far. If you need pictures of my set up PM me with your email and I can send you some later this week. Good luck.
