Too many people do this wrong and hurt their engines. I can tell you about Mark 4 1988 454's if thats what you have. There are many differences between models and years.

Re: Oil Line routing?

The motors are 509 cu gen 6 just want to make sure this time around.I know some people reverse the lines to the cooler so they can achieve cooler or warmer oil tempratures/ or so ive read any way. There has also been some talk in the forum about pressure relief valves,my adapter bolts up to block with a big center flare adapter dont know if I should change that to a billet adapter? And I dont think I have a relief valve.Any thoughts?

Thumbs up Re: Oil Line routing?

Thanks, just to recap, center of adapter is return to engine block?I followed my lines from the 502 efi and I plumbed the same way.wanted to make sure oil temp sender was correctly installed in series to obtain correct temp.

Yes,
And as far as oil lemp location, that all depends if you want to measure cooled or before cooled temps. You'll get arguments both ways on that. I put a sender in for both options with a switch under the dash to switch between the 2 senders and read on the dash gauge. There is a difference.
