Re: How much does a Chris Cat weigh?
My Chris Cat weighed about 8,500#: after removing most of the original OEM "furniture" inside the cabin. Twin blown 572's and #3 Speedmasters. No fuel.

I remember something about 8600lbs with original equipment 454, Velvet Drive, SSM IIs. I think that was correct a decade or 2 ago. But I never weighed mine.

RE: AO weight
I agree that the AO hull weight is most likely less, but the largest weight difference is in the drive train. Most AO's use Bravos, whereas most Chris Cats use Speedmasters, Borg Warner transmissions, drive shafts, bell housing coolers, etc.

Re: How much does a Chris Cat weigh?
Never scaled mine either it is heavy in the 8k range on the same lift as my 80 302 formula sat on and floats close to the same level as it did. My hull is tuff 1985 almost no stress cracks on it. Haven't looked at a AO to see if stringers bulkheads ect look the same. I have probably removed 3 to 4 hundred pounds from mine iron to alu heads removed arch fresh water system battery charger.
