Bottom Paint

Unfortunately I can't use a lift in my marina so need to paint bottom w/ antifouling paint. Boat is a Formula 400ss. Does anyone have any suggestions for a paint that protects againts slime and barnacles, yet minimizes speed loss.
Thanks

Re: Bottom Paint

Check out Petit "VIVID". IT comes in 6 or 8 colors and can be mixed to get dozens of cool colors. Also, talk to authorized applicator and get info about how to prep and paint outdrives--they take a special paint called Alumikote.

GOod Luck

Re: Bottom Paint

There was a thread recently about this (1-2 months ago???) My suggestion is to pay someone....prepping the bottom is the worst.

VC-18 or 17. Have the bottom prepped and primed with VC tar. The vc -18/17 is fast and easy. One coat every year, no sanding, no scraping. Little if any speed loss.

Thanks for the info. Spoke to Interlux about the VC 17 and also VC Offshore. They were very honest and felt that I'd be cleaning barnacles often. They suggested Ultra w/ Biolux.
