Default Bill Harris Leaving Mercury X-Site

Word is out that Bill Harris will soon be transferring out of Mercury’s X-Site facility in Panama City. Just want to take this opportunity to recognize Bill’s support of the racers since he took over the facility. Going to Panama City knowing Bill will not be there to greet me at the gate, will be a very different experience. I’m sure things will never be quite the same.

Without Bill’s efforts, the Panama City races would never have come to fruition and are a testament to his insight. All racers should recognize the role Bill had in bringing offshore racing back to the area after a 13-year hiatus. The continuance of the Panama City race as annual event will have a significant impact on the community; it’s economy, and the solid foundation of race venues from which the sport will excel.

Good luck in your future endeavors. We look forward to seeing you again soon in your new, well deserved, position with Mercury.

Call Brett Anderson of BBLADES. He will set you up with fast props.

Best of luck Bill and to echo Dave Scott, you are a true asset to Mercury and the boating industry overall... Best to you and your move.

Berns,

You should contact Mat & Julie Croce at Throttle-Up propellers. They are located in St. Pete, close to the Spectre factory. Matt does a lot of work with race teams dialing in propellers. There is nothing like having the man who works your props testing the boat with you.

As for going to X-Site, you might want to re-think that idea. With Bill leaving, along with the recent departure of other key personnel, its doubtful you will be able to get the quality of expertise you can get elsewhere. The way things are going; all that will be left will be some burnt-out light bulbs and a few leftover boxes of rat poison.

Will the last man out please turn out the lights?

Wow, hard to believe he wont be there! I have been down there twice this year from BAJA, for a total of 3 weeks at X-Site. Bills a great guy and treated me well the whole time I was down there. Thanks Bill and Good Luck in whatever you get into!
