Re: Dragon gets a new make over
Lucky Strikes,
I know a lot of teams don't like to talk about how fast there boat's are.. but part of our program is campaigning the Dragon for Craig so I don't mined talking about it....one of the reason the boat was dragging is our X-dementions were over a 1 1/4 inches to low....the othing thing we have been doing is balancing the boat...which was a small task because of the way the Dragon's already fly's...with the boat balanced it will run in 5 footers and fly level....it reminds me so much like the F1 Activator I ran with Mark....
Basically....in Nov. once we got the bugs out with some loose wires, it was the first time we put her in the water.
at weighting 8400lbs she ran 102.6 with just throwing a prop on at 5250 rpms....that was before all the changes we are making...raseing the x-dementions will make a big differance in speed + all the other little different things we do to get more speed.....
We are doing the big things first...and then dailing it in getting a mile and hour here and there....
The boat handles great....and has great acceleation....which in racing is more important then top end....but we want both...
Will be splashing it again in N.C. after the wind tunnel and we will post the new results...no secrets here...
Thanks for asking...
