QATAR 96 AND SPIRIT OF NORWAY APPEALS UPHELD
Monday, 27 March: The appeals of Qatar 96 and Spirit of Norway against the disqualification of Qatar 96 from rounds 6&7 of the 2005 UIM Class 1 World Powerboat Championship in Dubai have been upheld by the UIM Appeal Board.
The outcome of the UIM Appeal Board’s decision reverses the action taken by Ali Bin Ghulaitha, Officer Of the Day (OOD) for rounds 6&7 to issue an amended set of results based on the results of a post championship dyno test on one of Qatar 96’s Mercury engines. An official statement on the ruling will be issued by the UIM.
