Congradulations to Extremeboats Dragon
Congradulation to the Extremeboats Dragon for the win in the speed trials in Malta. Added to their convincing win in the offshore leg the team is proving that they are serious contenders to repeat as P1 UIM Super Sport Champoins in 2007.

CIG,
I'm trying to follow the who program over there in P1...
In the time trials...since they are capped on speed...
can they not brake out of the 80 mph cap...or can they just run ...I notice everyone is just under the 80 mph mark....

It just goes to show how interesting a Class with a speed limit can be....8 boats in the time trials. Sounds like just the right number of boats on the water at the same time.
I din't realize they capped at 80 mph....for some reason I thought it was higher.....I was thinking it was 80 klicks...but that would be slower.
So....I guess speed limits are not just a way for old Super Vee boats that can't cut the mustard anymore to keep racing.
God I feel old...anybody know how to get ahold of Viagra...I need a Sponsor...and some samples.
Congrats Extremeboat.com Dragon!

congrats for Extremeboat/Dragon.
In my opinion all the boats that finished on Saturday's race they are all winners considering that they had 15to 20 foot waves to negotiate.
As for the time trials, all boats that took part went over 80mph, but the 80mph speed limit is for when they race the course.
These are some clips.

The time trails they ran, was the first time that P1 organisned it just to entertain the spectators, instead of cancelling the event, they just improvised. which in my opinion they did a great job.
As for the normal race course the supersport class cannot go over 75mph average for each lap, and a straight line speed of 80mph, but I don't know if they are able to check the straight line speed in normal racing conditions, because if you see the video's of last year's races, you will notice that some supersport boats ran very close to the evolution class boats from the green flag to the first buoy.
