Really? I heard the opposite. Insurance, retirement from Pat's job, etc I heard they are doing quite well. RIP Pat and nothing to do with the boat wreak- just think others may need financial help more than them (as you say BobbyB). Areo 57 had a ton of money from the get go- I'm not saying they didn't earn every cent and the pain of the wreak is not as bad- just right now think financial help could go help more than others.

I walked by the JBS show in KW. Dreary day and last minute time adjustments as not to conflict with the FPC party an hour away IIRC. Ok so only Stock Island/Boca Chicko or whatever but still a ways away.

Mark, the story is that Pat's estate is not settled yet. Thats all I'm going to say at this time because of other issues. Just let's keep it at that.

I know last year after the Key West Worlds , he was a little upset as he felt that he didn't get enough press. He and his Team worked their a..zz off to try and get the boat ready for Key West Worlds, which they did and what a great looking and running boat. They just felt that they never got the press they thought that they should of gotten after spending all that money and putting in all that time to finish it. He had made a statement something like he didn't know if he was going to race in 2009 unless he had a sponsor. Then I thought that I read that he felt bad or apologized for going off on a rant as it was just the pressure of everything coming together. Don't quote me on that but I think that is what he said. As a race fan I hope that JBS will continue to race and find a great sponsor and don't blame him for sounding off as, we all do from time to time. I would love to see JBS Racing , Aqua Marine and Miss Geico doing battle at races for 2009. What a show that would be.
