Hey Benny Jr.
This is not Steve Quick but his partner, Lee Austin, of S-12 DVC (Throttle Up Propellers). Glad to hear that PR racing is coming back. I cut my teeth in P.R.O.S. in the early nineties under Hector Cardona, president of P.R.O.S. I ran a 30 ft Scarab as C-12 under LA Enterprises....the most fun racing I've ever done. You Puerto Ricans know how to party and enjoy life. I wish I could make your race. I managed Porto Delray boat yard for a while and your first race is in my home water. It's a relatively calm race and fast unlike San Juan. We were second in points and rookie of the year with very fond memories of PR Offshore.
Good luck, best wishes and hopefully I'll be given the opportunity to race again in PR.
Lee Austin, S-12, World's Fastest Super Stock Boat at 119.4 mph

Hey Steve I remember you from Puerto Del Rey. And the black boat L.A. Enterprise with the arneson drives. It was a nice boat. But PROA"Puerto Rico Offshore Association used to run the races back then, our organization PROS is new and what better place to start than Villa Marina. Those where the best races.

Hi Benny Jr.,
I love that old boat myself - she did me well - thanks for the photo. But here's where it's at today...the fastest stock boat known to man. We've held the Kilo records since '04. The last challenges in '07 we averaged 119.4 mph but did clock one pass at 122 mph. Our back-up run threw a propeller blade which gave us the average of 119.14. I would love to be able to bring the boat to Puerto Rico and let it strut it's stuff in rough or calm (San Juan to Fahardo or Ponce). She performs well in all. It would be a blast just to spend time and race in Puerto Rico...some of my fondest memories of offshore racing are there. Good luck and think of me every time you take to the race course.
PS TOP SECRET: If you really want to go fast call "Throttle Up" - Matt Croce will make it happen for you.
Lee Austin, S-12
