SUPERCAT 388 Skater HULL No 1.
|
If we cant tech it , No SUPERCAT guy has any interest in it..Theres my message. At this point I can only tell u what Ive been told by others. BUY 750's and come racing. Relaible,Talkin trash, and efusion..I agree. We will probably evolve the class slowly with changes. We currently have one SUPERCAT class. We have never had ONE engine BRAND! unlike your 850's. Bring your ideas to KW. And KEEP IT SIMPLE. I understand C1 rules

tony, i have to say that you confuse me and probably others sometimes. qatar and its team along with curtis are coming over here to run with the 750 supercats and help promote a C1 "like" series based around the current 750 boats. guy's fury team should fit right in with there current motors per class one rules if they add the required AIR restrictor - thats the main "teched" piece which supposedly equalizes the engines in C1.
do the math of 10,000 lbs boat with 930 hp = .093 hp per lb. or 1 hp pre 10.752 lbs.
so with that 9500 lb boat gets 883.5 hp
9000 lb boat gets 837 hp
carb motor get a no-go gauge and fuel injected, electronic fule injected and blower motors get air restrictors.
thats the easy part, your bigger problem is how to deal with any new boats that run shaft drive and rudder setup. qatar's gear changing abilities far out weighs a few hp between engine builders

Maybe Tony doesn't realize that all of C1 (and 90% of all major motorosports) are efi and a growing number of C1 are supercharged? I guess "working" with doesn't mean ever racing against if they don't know how or want to tech an efi engine.
Why not just let Guy be the research project?

Class 1 allows SCAM Lambo V-12s / Victory Lambo V-12s / Sterling Blower Motors/ Mercury 750s / Mercury 1200's..........
If they can make all that work WHY IN THE WORLD can't you make 850s / 750s work?

It would be to easy and make to much sense. Why would you want to try and grow the sport and put the past behind everybody?

Are the Technical Specs for Class 1, 3, 3C posted anywhere. If a US team built a class 1 boat, could it run sueprcat here all season? If a 750 will fit in class 1, then why not call it Class-1 US and adopt their tech specs?

Another great reason to unify/consolidate/compromise now... a possible race just off the coast of the US.
IOTA HOLD TALKS WITH BERMUDA’S PREMIER
Monday, 19 October: IOTA has held talks with Bermuda’s Premier, Dr. Ewart Brown, to discuss the feasibility of holding a round of the Championship in Bermuda in 2010.
IOTA General Secretary, Marco Sala, and Operations Director, Pasquale Sesana, were invited by Karl Outerbridge – owner of OTBT – to visit the islands last week for a series of preliminary meetings with Premier Brown and officials, to present the Championship and to see if the necessary infrastructures were in place to stage a Class 1 Grand Prix. “The aim of the visit was to see if the conditions exist to bring Class 1 to Bermuda,” said Sala.
“We have presented the Championship and its requirements in detail to the Bermudan Authorities. Now we must wait and see if they are in a position to realise their ambition of hosting a Class 1 event.”
