My wife and I spent a week on Atlantic Beach last year which by coincidence was the week of the SBI race. I met the man who bought "Cat Killer" and was his guest at the race.

I hope this year there will be more than the 19 boats that showed up last year.

BTW I was in the Army from 1962-1965. We the Veterans thank you for thinking about us.

This year is going to be our biggest and best yet! We have heard from a number of boats new to our race and are very excited to show them what eastern North Carolina has to offer. We have a strong military presence in the eastern part of the state with MCAS Cherry Point, Camp Lejuene, Fort Bragg, and Seymour Johnson AFB all within a couple hours of Morehead. We felt it was the least we could do for those who "give all" to protect our freedoms. Thank you personally for your service and I hope you can make it again this year.
