Props to Tamp Bay Area Boaters
They showed up in droves yesterday to support the SBI race in Clearwater. The spectator fleet was enormous! Chamber of Commerce weather sure did not hurt matters but people in our area support boat racing, period! What a fun day on the water.

Thank you Mike!
From the end of the pier looking out and down the race course... What a sight to behold! Beyond imagination!
Thank you everyone who came out!
Here's what it looked like and sound:

The spectator fleets for the St. Pete races used to be huge as well. I remember the first event in 1997, Gene Whipp and I were standing on top of the Pier marveling at the boats streaming in from the Gulf, from Tampa, and from the Pinellas part of the Bay. Similar site this weekend brought back some great memories.

I also have to mention the fantastic turnout for volunteer boats - patrol/medical and turn boats, and for most of them it was their first time assisting in a race.
I have paperwork for people from Clearwater, Clearwater Beach, Tampa, Treasure Island, Indian Rocks Beach, Largo, Dunedin, Englewood, Bradenton, Newport Richey, St. Pete, and Seminole.
And a special thanks to the local police (on land and water) and coast guard
Great job guys.......see you next year
Pat D.
