SS outboard engines???

Seeing that the 2.5's are not avilible as complete units from mercury is there any talk in Super Stock to change to a new standard engine (250XS or 300XS)? Just wondering....

NO there is not....the last talks we had were actually a couple of years ago about the 200XS. Most people are still happy with the 2.5 280.

So if a new boat is being built how would someone be able to find a new set of engines if they are not being produced complete anymore?

Mercury offered engines for sale last year to racers ONLY. There are NEW motor out there for sale. You can also buy the parts to build them powerheads/ mids/ gearcases. Or you can buy used parts and build them as well. If I were building a new boat I would buy used mids but put new powerheads and gearcases on it.

We actually just ran 10 races on our powerheads and gearcase without any major issues.
