Brian I know you want to stay in P3 and I talked to Scott with the Phamton he wants P3
I also talked to Scott with the fountain and he wants P3 until he get7s used to the boat. If someone wants to move up to 100mph that is great but my intention is not to eliminate a class or to change anything we just want our class back for us and other boats that have no other class and can fit into P2

It is great see Class 2/P2 coming back in OPA and SBI.There are many older catamaran and vee bottom race boats out there can be raced safely and competitively at 105MPH.It may take some time to build the fleet, but the potential is there.

Simalar to what they r doing in the old P1 class that is now Superboat Extreme. They ran 11 boats in KW and they had some of the best racing of the week with a mix of V's and Cat's.

I used to run a ....
Reason being, there is a serious divide between the vee bottom and tunnel/cat guys and also the Merv Vs OMC guys. (sound familiar??)
I took the list of racers and did my best to put cat against vee and Merc against OMC. I was scared to death doing this assuming every loser would be in my face after the fact.
Was the exact opposite. They all loved it! We had a P.A. also so the racers and the spectators could hear our M.C. (me ) talk **** about all of them while explaining the rivalry for the spectators. (my personal opinion is this is huge for the success of a race)
Was an absolute hoot! Validation of this method came the next year when at the drivers meeting I asked the guys how they wanted to be paired and they unanimously voted for the same as last year.
When I raced kneel downs I didn't care as much if I was first or last. Just wanted someone to race
