Its a motor that Ilmor could build for the class , not one of their production motors. We r trying to build spec class race motor that would be built to run with the motors that r in the class now.

What makes a Superboat motor $ 45,000 is 200 more hp.

Would it come with headers and fuel injection system or is this just a base technology carb version with no headers and safety management systems? What would the HP and torque numbers be you would be shooting for and how would you make sure they were the same as the currant 525 motors that seem to keep making more power legally all the time.
Not trying to be a smart a$$ just asking questions Im sure other are wondering as well. Not sure how well you can manage 2 different style motor packages fairly.

When we get closer and have all the data SBI will post It. Goal is to try to have it completed and in the rule book before KW?

I heard OPA was also thinking about making some changes now that the 525's are gone. Any insight on what direction they might go.

I have not heard anything about changing what we have in OPA on the motor. Everyone that I have talked to have no issues with the rules as they are in OPA. Its a proven bullet proof package that has 10 years of racing R&D and reliability that we enjoy. Why would we go backwards?

Ok cool just what I heard. I gathered OPA liked the Superboat program being that they adopted the same package.

If you are referring to the live stream yes. I am a big fan of watching live racing.

I was talking about the Superboat class with the 750 / 800 carb motors.

I would think that is correct. Allowing teams to race in either OPA or SBI is a beautiful thing IMO. As a boat racer myself in a class that has different rules it limits many teams from cross racing SBI or OPA and makes it impossible to have a true World Champion at the end of the year !!!!! Heck they cant even agree to get the GPS class at the same speed LOL
