Default Jd byrider key west

As most of you already know, Mike and I, had a pretty violent accident on the last lap in turn two on Wednesday. We both want to take a moment to thank the SBI medical safety team for all their efforts. Also to all the racers that worked together to get our boat out of the water while we were in the hospital. The medical safety was absolutely amazing, they were on us within seconds. I'm not sure, but I believe there were six divers in the water that loaded Mike and I onto separate boats and rushed us to the Coast Guard station. Mike was then airlifted to Jackson hospital in Miami for observation and released in two days. I was taken to the Lower Keys Hospital and released 4hrs later with minor cuts and bruises. I always took for granted that the SBI medical safety teams were called Angels, I now know why. They were definitely our guardian angels that day. Each and everyone of them will have our undying gratitude for saving our lives.

As for our crew, Trent and Ryan, and all the other teams that jumped in to help, Absolutely Not, Little Reggie, Bob Teague, Stihl, Big Tuna, Fast Response, Hooters, Crazy Chicken, the entire team of Snowy Mountain Brewery, the list goes on....we want to thank each and every one of you for taking the time to step up in our time of need. We would also like to thank Rev Jim Black for the many prayers he said for us and visiting me in the hospital, the entire staff of SBI for the great job they did at the crane for getting the boat out immediately with the cooperation of all the other racers.

Last but not least, a heartfelt thank you to our sponsor, and my very good friend, Tony Marcantonio, who manged to get to the hospital before the ambulance, he must drive a car like he does his supercat, and assured me that everything would be taken care of and not to worry about the boat, there were more people than you can count to take care of it. His dedication and commitment to rebuilding our team is unsurpassed. His positive attitude feeds us as we move forward to the task of getting ready for next year. He shows integrity, professional and a driving positive force for us to be better, and without him a lot of what we do would not be possible.

SBI medical team definitely proved themselves last week. Some teams might not always get along but when the $hit hits the fan the bottom line is that we are all racers. All on the same team.
