Default SBI Super V Limited rule change

Super V Limited class can use Tractor Style CMI headers, and tail pipes exiting though the engine hatch . Spoke to OSS,and they are also allowing the same thing. SBI is tring to keep the unity in the rule books for the worlds. Thanks to a few teams input on this,it started the ball rolling and getting it in the rule book. Thanks John C for listening and giving the racers what they wanted.

Way to go John C. and also to Frank for relaying the messages to everyone on here. Frank has been working very hard for SBI this year. Keep up the good work.

Wow Phantom,
That was impressive. What you did reminds me of a quote from T2x. But I can't remember it. SQ

I have no problem congratulating people when they do something that is good for the sport.

I also don't have a problem pointing out a "snake in the grass" when the snake is damaging the sport. Unfortunately, it is snake season.

Again, my hat is off to SBi for looking deep into their rules and working towards overall alignment concerning rules.
Good Form !!

Mike,

Let me take a stab at this one for you.

SBI is doing everything possible to allow unification. A statement was made in St Cloud recently that APBA will not pursue KW due to rules being different amongst other reasons. John by no means has copied APBA's/OSS's rulebook, but has made it to where APBA/OSS racers can show up, pay their fees and race, not modify and spend more money in order to be legal. The above rule change reflects that.

I can remember one rule change that basically killed two classes. Making the HP3 and the 525 legal in the Factory classes. Being on a former F1 team, it involved at the time spending approx 36,000 more to be competitive. 4 teams elected to make the switch and 90% time the 525's finished 1-2-3. Even playing field? When my team raced in St Cloud a couple of weeks ago, I saw 2 F1's there and 2 F2's(1 ran P3 though) I can remember 20 F1's and even more F2's taking the green just 2-3 years ago. And Merc released a price of 29 grand to get the pkg this year with a contingency, factoring inflation shouldnt the price go up every year? I wonder where the xtra 7,000 grand went? Into the sport right?yeah ok!!! What I am stating is against LLC(Legacy) not the current regime. Obviously I raced with them 2 weeks ago and plan to again sometime in the future. I wish them the best of luck and with the class reps they established they should go in the right direction with rule changes and so forth cause they made it like SBI now, the racers suggest the rule changes.

Mike, I hope this explained something or a hole lot of nothing to ya and best of luck to you and hope to see you at some of the races this year!
