Re: dania beach ???
Callan did sound sweet, saw those V-12s close up and they are NICE! Heck of a storm; couldn't see the length of the course.
Hi Bobby, nice seeing you and the family on the Cig. Boat looks great. That was me on the Donzi trying to tie down the "Medical Boat" flag.
Hi Georges. Albert told me you are staying here and keeping the boat. Great news. Hope to see you around Haulover.

Re: dania beach ???
WOW we had a blast in Dania it was a great town to race in. The Lions club treated us like Kings they feed us for 2 days. The Hard Rock Casino was wild and they put a great party on also. Augie you guys need to try and make this one next year it was a blast and some really close racing. Thanks it wasn't an easy win they gave us all we could handle and then some,Albert and Liquid Assets kick our ass at the start. Looks like its going to be close racing all year.
Looking forward to N.C. it should be a blast as always and looking forward to racing with APBA again it was good see everyone. I think the 2 groups will get stronger and stronger every race and I know the boat count is going to be huge again. Try offshore racing again the way it was meant to be,good friends and great racing. The 2 premier origanizations racing together again, life is good if you are a racer. Key West will be huge this year with SBI,and APBA just like the old days again.
Talk to you soon and I'll see you in a few weeks...

Firewater cruises in Vee

Dania Beach · Rain squalls delayed the start of the Dania Beach Centennial Super Boat Grand Prix Sunday, then cut short the finish. But as far as the crew of Firewater was concerned, it was a perfect race.
Driver Herb Stotler of Fort Lauderdale and throttleman Rich Wyatt of Boca Raton cruised to victory in the Superboat Vee class despite the weather and some rough spots on the 8-mile course off Dania Beach and Hollywood.
"It got a little choppy toward the end," Wyatt said. "The south turn [off Hollywood] was the choppiest part of the course."
"There were holes about 500 yards before the turn. It was like a washing machine," Stotler said. "There were probably 4-footers out there."
Firewater handled the rough stuff without any problems, especially after its rival dropped out of the race.
Firewater and Rio Roses/Lake Cumberland were neck-and-neck early in the race, which started 30 minutes late at 1:30 p.m.
Firewater was about half a boat length behind Rio Roses, but on the inside going into a turn, when Rio Roses broke down and headed off the course. The boat was towed back to Harbour Towne Marina.
A 40-foot Fountain with 800-horsepower Stotler engines, Firewater ran conservatively for the balance of the race, which was ended with two laps remaining when a heavy rainstorm swept over the course at 2:22 p.m.
"After [Rio Roses] broke down, we backed off and kind of saved our stuff," Wyatt said.
"We backed down to 90 mph," Stotler said, adding that their top speed was 112. "We wanted to make it reliable and get the miles."
The reason is that every mile counts when boats are as evenly matched as Firewater and Rio Roses. Each had won two races this season, and the boats were tied in points coming into the race with 1,903.
Sunday's victory was worth 501 points for Firewater, which is the defending national champion in Vee and also won the 2001 national and 2002 world titles.
Rio Roses earned 450, giving Firewater a 51-point advantage heading into next month's race in Washington, N.C.
If the boats end up tied in points after the Super Boat National Championship in Deerfield Beach on Oct. 8-10, total miles completed would be the first tiebreaker. Average speed would be the next.
Callan Marine, which beat Bacardi Silver in the Superboat Unlimited class, led the field with an average speed of 99.97 mph for 88 miles.
Results
Superboat Vee: 1. Firewater 2. Rio Roses/Lake Cumberland; Superboat Vee Limited: 1. Fountain Racing.com 2. Miccosukee Indian Gaming 3. Lucas Oil ATM; Superboat Limited: 1.
