That dunker saved our bacon a few weeks ago!
I can attest to the applicable nature of that dunker designed the way it is.
You get a face full of water, the shock of the cold and cannot see anything! I have not done the dunker at a National Event, but it appears to happen in a pool in a very controled environment, not the same as a flip on the water

Actually I did not take it that way.
Just felt the need to state how happy we (Tim and I) were with the dunker training offered by Pacific Dive.
When you watch the Freeze Frame video showing canopy boats flipping, there appears to be "time" once underwater before the cabin fills. That was not our experience. It was instant, and exactly like the dunker. If there was time, I do not recall what I was doing while still dry.
In the end, I am a real believer in this practice and we will do it at every race to refresh and get a feel for the different water. The lack of visability in the "delta" waters is amazing, and had we not practiced this on Saturday before our race, our exit would not have gone nearly as smooth.
Looking forward to seeing Jim and his team in Pittsburg to give them a big hug for their efforts.
