Re: POPRA Offshore Race Huntington CA: Aug 14-15
There is a battle heating up in Factory 1. Only seconds separated the finishers in the flat waters of Benicia. Huntington Beach is full of surprises with big snotty water and holes deeper than ever. Time for the kidney belts cause this water is going to beat the crap out of the racers and equipment. We're running a full 50 mile + race that will test survival of the teams and the boat. This will be a great West Coast race. I'm looking forward to seeing some old friends.

Re: POPRA Offshore Race Huntington CA: Aug 14-15
Jim,
Be safe, wish we were going to be there. The boat is going in for glass work tomorrow. We ran the engine under a load on Saturday a.m. and we still think it is fine. We had trouble with it at full speed though, think the distributor and/or fuel pump need to be replaced.
Ohh well, it is only money!
We would love to come down, but think it would be best if we spent the weekend working on the boat (just like this weekend).
Good luck,
Rick

Thanks Scott,
The weekend is shaping up to be a lot of fun. The boat count looks like it's up with new local entries. We've got TV production going for airing later in the the year. If race day is anything like this past Sunday, the forecast if for "strap your stuff" on tight...it's going to get big. This is Warlock water.
The "V's" are ganging up on us now. That would be the LaVey's and the Velocity's. Watch for results on the POPRA website. We'll get them posted as soon as we can.

Best of luck to all of you in my home waters!!!! Stay safe and have a great race. If anyone runs across Ray Jones (Long Beach Yacht Sales) tell him hello from his offshore niece.
