Grand Haven Reporter ... in Beijing
Good luck to all the OSS Teams racing in Grand Haven this weekend. I apologize for not being able to provide the usual coverage, as I am in Beijing at the moment.

Re: Grand Haven Reporter ... in Beijing
This is Brittany Wilde's report from Grand Haven:
Grand Haven, MI August 14, 2004
It's a beautiful day here in Grand Haven, MI where the teams of the Offshore Super Series are preparing for what is sure to be an incredible race on grand Lake Michigan. On Thursday the best of the best teams in offshore racing started arriving in Grand Haven ready to register and settle in at Race Village on Harbor Island where fans and spectators have been able to view the boats and meet the racers and crews up close and personal.
The Offshore Super Series has been shown such gracious hospitality and enthusiasm by the citizens and volunteers of Grand Haven, and the teams were able to celebrate with the community when they joined in the Coast Guard City Offshore Challenge Parade on Friday in downtown Grand Haven where crowds gathered to cheer on the boats and their crews.
Today brought perfect weather and water conditions for testing, which went smoothly and safely thanks to so many dedicated volunteers on and off the water. Excitement is growing after hearing the roar of the engines during testing, and the racers, volunteers, and spectators alike are ready for the green flag to drop and the races to begin, which are expected to attract enormous crowds and a huge spectator fleet.
With both the Offshore Super Series and Great Lakes Silver Cup Series boats roaring to life in competition for the checkered flag tomorrow and such a gorgeous and friendly location, the Coast Guard City Offshore Challenge is sure to be an event to remember.

Re: Grand Haven Reporter ... in Beijing
I talked to Nigel and Nick they were set up for the rough. Bad choice tough call. They were taking on water (lots) with a blown header hose like Biloxi.
Next time.
Too bad for Popeyes. Was there any damage? Was it early in the race?
Can anyone give a race report lap by lap?
Good job Ettore. Paul and ?
