Question Question For You Bravo Racers

Will a Merc XR shorty lower work on a standard non XR 1998 bravo? And would this be something to thank about or would the Imco be a better choice? Thanks in advance

as far as I know they will , I've used old spacers for standard bravos(1996) and used them in new imco with no problem the bolts and passages are the same the the diffs are internal gears, propshaft carrier etc

Sorry I guess I should have been more specific. My drive is a standard bravo drive, and the shorty is off of an XR. I know that the prop shaft in the XR is larger than mine, but is the Vertical shaft the same dia, and will it mesh up to my standard drive? Also I was told that the gear ratio is decided in my drive in the upper, and in the XR it is decided in the lower is this true or did I misunderstand?
