There are a few private property campgrounds you can reserve a spot in advance. That weekend is called Sandjam and may have a decent crowd and may be hard to get a spot in the state park. We always stay at LSPS http://www.lspsonline.com/cgi-bin/ca...&numofnights=4
It is located just north of the south campgrounds.
It can be warm that time of year but should still be a good time.
You can check out waynoka.com for alot of info.

Sleep and showers are overrated.
Bring tools and an air compressor. That way you won't need any and everyone that camps next to you can borrow them.
Don't worry about getting lost. There are only two entrances/exits to the dunes and they both have a flashing light you can see at night.
There is no quiet time in the camping areas. If this bothers you get over it now, it won't change anything.
Bring good riding gear and have fun. I need to make a trip myself sometime this summer. May just take off the dates you are going so we can hook up. I need an excuse to ride.

If lost you can go 'til you hit the fence and follow it back to the gates. Too far ahead to tell about your dates but it could happen. Never been in summer nor do our boat friends but you never know.
