They never announce it until the Captain's meeting. I wish they would make it public a few weeks in advance so that boaters not in the event could know the route and they could stay out of the way.

Last year everybody lined up thinking we were heading to the dam first as always.
Boy were they wrong when we came right thru THEM!!

I agree, that was a little crazy!! A little forethought to alert the non participant boaters would only increase the tolorance for these events.

in the past i believe they have sent the leisure boats towards the dam and the performance boats towards shangra la.

They better do something different for the start, last year was plum dangerous. We had cruisers coming down the channel, boats criss crossing the channel, and the dumbass pulling kids on a tube.

GRDA could help manage it just a little bit, we are only talking about 1hr of help from GRDA at the start for eveybodys benifit, yes the everyday tube pullers and day cruiser's might get upset and *****, but 1 hr of the entire season isn't asking much to keep everyone safe!

It didn't seem that bad to me Mac, I really didn't see any boats after the start. Just gotta get out front and its smooth sailing.
