Although my little Pantera is not too loud, I drove right by the Sherriff and Coast Guard Tuesday afternoon and i don't think they even glanced at me for more than a second. Hope that's good news for the rest of you!

Just like I tell my wife. NO EYE CONTACT. If they want me they will have to work for it.

Hey Marc and Todd, how were the noise police this past year in the channel and on spring lake? Would like to visit the area this summer if I can do it without financing the policeman's christmas party.

Todd can probably answer better than I since i did not get out on the water much last year
I heard they were not as bad as the year before but still have cracked down on the noise in general If you have open pipes with no way to quiet them down you are running a good risk to get pulled over THe marine patrol always has a great turn over with a few of the old crottchety guys that never seem to retire. The old uys and the BRND NEW guys you have to worry about Thye guys that have a few years under there belt seem to be more mellow

Todd please chime in you been out there alot more than me in the last year

Marc, you pretty much nailed it.

It seems they are laying off unless you are being obnoxous. Meaning, if you come rolling down the channel with a loud boat and pass a cop...then he will get ya. But if you come through at a dead idle and not making a wake showing your trying, they seem to appreciate it and leave you alone.

I think most locals have made their boats quiet and the cops see we are trying so they have been pretty cool. Or since the boats are quiet now and they are not getting calls all day about the noise.

I think you will be fine. Let us know when you are coming to town.

Todd

Its a little sooner but....have ever been to Coast Guard festival? It runs July 30th through August 8th. With the last weekend being the big party weekend. Lots of stuff going on during the week.
