Banana Lake Erie Events

I am taking the family, my wife and three sons 17, 13, and 11, and boat to Erie the last week of June and staying till July 4th. We are staying at South Beach Resort in Sandusky Bay. This is our first trip to Erie. Are there any events that week or places that you recommend?

I will add Fridays to the list. I'll be arriving June 26 and I read somewhere about a sandbar party that day. Does anyone know where the sandbar is or if this is a kid friendly event? I'm also looking for a non kid friendly party crowd for one day while I'm there. Any ideas?

June 27 is hot hole party for leopa, Maumee bay is very good for the family, and the casino on kellys island is a big offshore hang out as well.

You might want to go to Kelly's Island Sunday at noon for church at the Casino. There's always some offshore boaters there and OSO regulars.

Just watch navigating out of the bay to the lake. There is a natural sandbar that you will have to navigate around. Not a big deal but just wanted you to be aware. I beleive were you are staying is the bay side of marblehead, correct. FYI there is a good boat ramp not even 1/4 mile down the road from the resort. Check out www.islandpirates.net. There are allot of peeps on there that hang up that area every weekend.

The sandbar is about 1 mile east of where you are staying. Just past Johnson's Island, it will be on your Port Side. Be careful of shallow water, the sandbar stretches almost to Ceder Point. Poker run on Saturday meet off Ceder Point I don't know the time.
