Default Nicest marina on Lake St-Clair?

Hi Guys, in July, we are going on holidays on Lake St-Clair then Put-in-Bay.

We are trailing to Leamington then we were planning to spend a couple days at the nicest marina on Lake St-Clair.

Then we are going to the Crew's Nest in PIB.

Can anybody help?

Actually we would like something similar to the Crew's Nest with nice pool, restaurants, clean showers, etc.

Thanks for your input.

Thanks Twin-Spins, looks like a great spot. Along the route, what do you recommend for stop-over near downtown Detroit or Windsor or anywhere it is worth stopping by en route to Macray.

I concur, Maccray is the nicest Marina on Lake St. Clair. On the Canadian side, their is Lakeview Park Marina in Windsor, where Lilly Kazzilly's Crab Shack & Grill is located. Not knowing if you are staying for a night or just making a stop, it is quit there and if staying overnight you can get a cab to take you to Down Town Windsor and Caesars Windsor Casino. when you travel from Canadian waters to the U.S. water you will need a Nexus Card or I-68 Permit and have to call Customs.

If you don't care if your on the US or Canadian side Miller's has a nice marina. I'm partial to the St.Clair marina, but it's up on St.Clair River.

Based on trailering to leamington, is that where you're launching? That's going to make a pretty good ride if you're planning on a stop over in lake stclair PIB is closer at that point? As AB mentioned don't forget documents. You may want to consider trailering to the US and then launching (lake St Clair area) since PIB is in the US you won't have to deal with any of the Customs that way. Check in when you trailer in and check out when you trailer back.

Leamington also has a nice marina, http://www.leamington.ca/visitors/marina.asp I would do a stay at kellys island one day and PIB the second, http://www.kelleysisland.com/ Maybe even do a stay at cedar point, lots to do in the area.

Guys, thanks for your input. Here is the itineary, so you will be in better position to schedule our stopover, etc.

Friday night overnight at Leamington Municipal Marina.
Saturday morning, depart for 2 days at Maccray Harbour.
How long that's gonna take, cruising at 45 mph.

We wanted to stopover in Windsor or Detroit for lunch, something nice close to downtown if possible.

Monday morning, departure for PIB, The Crew's nest where we will stay until Thursday.
(one day depending on the weather we will do a return trip to Cedar point Park) .

Thursday morning depart PIB for Leamington, back on the trailer and we will start heading back to Montreal.

We have Nexus card, spend a week at the Crew's Nest last year. Never been on Lake St-Clair, that why we want to go and visit.

Sounds like a fun trip. Just be careful in St. Clair it's very shallow in spots. But there are channels that will basically take you right to Mac and Ray's. From there to Detroit is only going to take you 30 minutes or so. There's a couple of restaurants down there. If you are spending 2 days on St. Clair you are obligated to check out The Moot and Gull Island. Both about a 15 minute boat ride from Mac and Rays. If you have kids probably stick to Gull. Have Fun!

When in July are you planning on coming down? There are a number of great events in July:

- July 9-11, the Detroit APBA Gold Cup, Unlimited Hydroplane Race. This is a great race that has just celebrated its 100th Running, so that tell you something about the race. There will be an exhibition race by Offshore Powerboats and an Air Show by an FA-18 Hornet, which is just fantastic.

- July 16-18, the Harrison Township Offshore Powerboat Race on Lake St. Clair, which is not far from Macrays.

- July 23-25, the St. Clair River Classic Offshore Powerboat Race at the City of St. Clair, Mi. This is one of the biggest and best Offshore Powerboat Races anywhere. The weekend is filled with great racing, entertainment, food, hospitality and partying. This is a must see. I hope this information can give you some other choices of things to do.
