Sounds good. Wasn't sure cause it sounded like they did different runs every year.

I haven't been to a jobbie nooner yet.....and have plenty of vacation days this year so I need to give this a serious thought.

Should be a great weekend to be out, can't wait to see some of the skaterfest hardware out there.

Ha... I always get a good spot riding down there solo. Last year I sort of created my own area at 11:00a.m. and by 11:30 there were 5 boats tied up to mine.

There are plenty of disrespectful people out there. That's for sure... I don't "beach" my boat, I don't let people that seem like they're trouble tie up to my boat, and I don't anchor on the West side (the main side) of the island. I'm generally on the N. side of the island, about 20 yards from the shore, in about 4.5 feet of water.

I like being able to go back to a relatively calm boat and relax. Sort of a get-away from the nonsense. A whole day of it gets old. I spend about four hours the entire day on the island, and even that's in two separate trips walking around.

That said, I always have a great time, I've never had a problem, and everyone I bring has a blast. It's a good time as long as you know how to handle it.

Last year was my first Jobbie, and I'll be out there again this year. I anchored on the south side of the island, where nobody was rafted up. Good times!

I went last year, last time I will attend that event, the raft off is much more fun.

I pretty much do the same thing. What time are you planning on getting out there?

Maybe we should plan a spot for OSO people to meet? I'm generally on the N side of the island, but I'm open to w/e. The N side seems to fill up last, and my lazy azz crew never makes it to the dock before 10:30. Maybe if I tell them 9:00am this year, they'll make it by 10:00. I generally say 10:00 and the last tired SOB usually arrives around 10:30.

IMO each event is what you make of it. I generally do what PPJ does, but I do set foot on the island a couple times throughout the day. I think its fun to "people watch," run into people I know, sit back and watch a little bit of the **** show. From my experience, last year the Raft-off was worse in every way, compared to Jobbie Nooner. There were more fights, more BS, and more ridiculous chit that happened during Raft-off. The Moot is cool, but you get all of the d!ckhead, steriod freak, guido wonna be types that drive their CARS to Harsen's Island, and walk over to the party, and cause problems. There was also a huge barge with a crane on it last year at Raft-off that had a party on it with some pretty rude people as well. I stayed away from all of the BS that I saw. When I see things getting out of control it's time to turn around and head back to my boat with my respectful crew. If you want to see nastyness or get into trouble at either event, it sure is there, but if you're 1/2 azz normal you can make a good time out of either event.
