Whats a day of boating cost you?

What on average does it cost to run a a boat 24-30ft with a single Io on Lake st. Clair.

Looking for ball park guys, run from detroit river to Strawbarry, Or run from Metro up the St. Clair rever?

Just a nice day of enjoying boating kind of fuel cost....

Just gas? I had a single 454. I am guessing 70-125 at todays prices if you run at a decent clip but not pegged. I do those routes all the time and with my twin it's about 125-150 if I cruise.

A stock 502 or 496 will burn 34-35 GPH at WOT on 87 octane. Add mods like a blower, 93 octane gas and it goes up from there. Don't forget the cost of the tow if you trailer to the water.

I think I calculated at one point $50 an hour of running, but gas was much lower then. I'd estimate closer to $75 now but I really try not to pay attention!

I have a single 454 and average about 50-100 a trip depending on how hard I go. I usually shoot from Selfridge to Gull and back. I do some nice long trips too yesterday I did Selfridge to Gull, up the middle channel, down the North Channel, over to smoke on the water, then bayside and tryst and finally back to Selfridge. Grand total was $120 or so in fuel, I was cruising most of the time, and wasnt wide open too much. Throw in food and drinks and easily was a $250 dollar day after 11 hours.

Update- So far this season Ive been out since late March. My fuel total is just shy of $500, Ive burnt about 125 gallons of fuel, in approx 15 hours of run time. Its been a blast but this new boat is so much more expensive than the last Did I mention is som much more....LOUD!!! Too lol
