Actually my cousins own towboat USA here in Buffalo. They have their boats ready to go on trailers. $200/hr from the time the capt. leaves his house til the time he gets home.

Roads must dry up. I will not throw misty salt road slop on boat. Yes it would be kinda stupid but cool bragging rights. I have not seen any ice off Avon Point all winter.

Last forecast I saw was for near gale force winds.
Reminds me of having my cruisers docked up there. Always told our dockmaster that if I found out they put another boat in before mine or pulled one after mine I'd sue them
Course, y'all know that means I spent a lot of weekends "in" the boat in the months of April,September and October w/the heat cranked, watching the wind blow the curtains inside the cabin while the boat tried to beat itself to pieces against the bumpers and spring lines.
Also meant I was the only lunatic in the harbor during those months.
Have to admit though, was always big fun having a pizza delivered to the back of the boat (drive up slip) at Catawba Moorings while watching the Browns games after everyone else left for the weekend
The Monday commute home to Cols w/zero traffic was a nice bonus as well.

It must be 10 years plus ago( really mild spell) that we had a couple of die-hard fisherman run the lake W.O in a bass boat to go fishing. There was no snow/ what skiff of ice there was was gone and they were all bound up in snowmobile suits and helmets.....I guess its all on a par with a stripped down snowmobile go past the dock in July

Funny you should be talking about this , spent Sat. afternoon on the bay at Long Point doing a little boating . We left the big boats in the storage building but we did get the hunting boats out for the afternoon. Had to break a little ice in the channel to get out but it was all good after that. Other than the ice burgees.
It is hard to keep you off the water, just about 5 more months to boating season for the rest of us. LOL
