Default Put in Bay

Anyone have any info on a good place to dock, etc in Put in Bay? Looking to take a trip over the week of July 4, 2014. Any info is much appreciated. Thanks.

The public docks require rafting. If you can make a reservation at the Boardwalk you will get a slip for the same fee. If they have anything available. They also have a store, restaurant, gas dock, air conditioned showers and bathrooms and wi-fi, all right there on the docks! There is a new marina that I don't know anything about. Go to their web site and there is a ton of info.

Lots of good info in this section, I'll dig up some threads.

We won't be there the 4th, but are usually there any other weekend. We typically stay on 'B' dock, but everyone has their preference.

Just got back in town from a weekend at PIB. We were marooned over there on Sunday, too much wind and too much ice. Miller's had to salt down the ferry and ramp so they could load vehicles to get back to the mainland. Tippers Bar had a blow out sale $1 for any beer bottled or draft all weekend! Made the day more tolerable that way. There are construction crews tearing up the docks for all new docks in 2014. Looks like A and C dock, but not real sure the exact info as they are just starting work. That island is definitely different when the cold settles in and man does it make you wish for the sunny days. There was plenty of space at the remaining docks though!

I was told C dock our adding 2 finger docks west off of there main dock, pretty far out from what B dock was saying. Going to be extremely congested on busy weekends, better radio in with those 38 footers. A dock I believe is just resurfacing them, I think.

If you want something more quiet there's always middle bass island, no rafting and there's the sonny s that can take you to the bay. But for the ultimate experience stay on B dock, the rafting off is not as bad as people make it sound.

If you want to be with all the action get on B dock as Mag stated. Twice last year we reserved a dock at Middle Bass and took the shuttle over to PIB. There is power and water on the individual slips at Middle Bass too. Every time we tried at PIB the docks were full last year, ended up on mooring balls which really isn't bad if your not staying on your boat. The experience is great and the people watching is priceless, worth the trip no matter where you end up docking.

Thanks for all the info guys. We are looking forward to going, but I doubt we will stay on the boat. Mine is a 1998 22 Scarab and my buddy has a 23 foot open bow Crown Line. Any hotels with dock space?
