Default Traverse City.............. Blue Angels air show

The Blue Angles will be flying July 4, 5, 6 over west bay begining at 12:30pm. The show on July 4 is their practice run but is identical to the regular show but less of a crowd on the water. Either anchor off Clinch park prior to 11:30am or outside the restriceted area.

We went there to see the Blue Angels a few years ago. Rafted up with some boater friends on the north side of the restricted area. Great veiw and you can tune in the commentary on the radio so you know what's going on and coming next. Very good time.

We are heading up with a few boats for the day. Not sure which one. Thinking of launching out of Elk. Is there a better / easier ramp?

Elmwood in T.C. would be the best but it wil be crowded. From Elk you'll have to go around the penninsula to reach west bay.

Is the launch at Bower's Harbor still open? We used to use it quite often years ago.

Bowers Harbor launch is still there. I pulled into it to pick up some friends last summer and it is tricky with the shallow water and short dock. Could also be a problem with trailer parking.

Suttons Bay also has a good ramp.

We'll probably watch the show from the marina. I'm still recovering from surgery and cannot drive car or run boat. Had to drop out as marshal for the run.
