we dont necessarily have big waves here . . . more like square shaped, relatively big and very close together and very confused

Mentor can be some crazy water and difficult to read. its one of my favorite courses and the very first race i did back around 03 or so. Last year was one of the biggest spectator fleets i have ever seen . . . . anywhere. Last year it was pretty calm though, fast course which is rare

i cant make it to Menner (thanks j ), got a schedule conflict that i cant get out of (work lol). Heading out to Put-in-Bay with the GF's parents Aug 3-5 though. They have a big Wellcraft cruiser we tag along on once a year.

it can get ugly over there but its the kinda slop that your extra wave span and width is gonna help ya with, one of the biggest things is with how confused and difficult to read the water can be. Nothing a 40 cant crush though, if i was in your shoes i would be wishing for whatever big stuff that area can throw at ya you got the right tool for the job. last year was pretty flat though and as i am sure you know, you wont know what ya get till they spool ya up from the milling circle

Wish i could make it out, that race has a special place in my heart being the first one i had ever done. The sensory overload was incredible
