Rob, Nashville Cats (Bruce) was the original owner of Color us gone boat. That thing was nothing but problems....hull floated over to one side.....was not balanced properly......you never knew which way it was going to go when you came off pad at 100.....friggin deathtrap. The torques mad an azzload of power though.

Congrats. That should be a nice package and bullit proof!!.What kind of speed you hoping for?

ThoroughHustler I have never seen one in person How does it compare to the 388 and how close is it to the 50??

I noticed the 444 doesent have a notched transom.I wonder what the bottom looks like compared to my 388?

Rob-Sorry I'm late getting back to you (you're probably in all kinds of trouble at PRI right now). It looks like you and Thorough are correct that Callen has the rights to the Torques. I did a search here and this last spring, Sterling and Callen were supposedly working together on them, There was an article on Sterling in one of the magazines that went into quite a bit of detail on how they were trying to refine the design, make it reliable and to get some of the cost out.As I recall,I thought that they said that they had the tooling. Certainly not a priority, but I'll see if I can find it. Obviously last spring was a long time ago and Callen may be doing everything now.For what it's worth...

OK, the October,2004 issue of Powerboat says that Dave Callan bought the rights to the Torque V-12 and had entered into a 'cooperative venture' with Sterling. At the time, Sterling didn't have a price but was taking orders for the motors. Their expectation was that a 1200hp version would go 200 hours before requiring rebuilding. The idea was to take weight out of the motor, make the parts easier to make as well as cheaper. I suspect that this has changed. Maybe someone has the latest status on this.
