My 26' with a 385 hp 454MPI, Stelling stand off box tested at the factory 72 MPH on GPS. Full of fuel and gear 4 people on board in freah water would run 68-69 on GPS.

Joe told me the box would pick up some speed, but we boat on Lake Erie and wanted the boat to ride better in the ruff which it did.

Hustler 388 Slingshot, 2007
i sold a couple of them to Europe. with 496HO they all ran 70-72mph...

As it is a "small" boat it reacts more to load (6 people... where did you put them??) as a 38' as the addional weight is relatively high compared to adding 6 people in a 38...

But in my opionion the 525 is the perfect motor for that boat!
