My 1999 388 History?
Hey gang... Been trying to research the history on my 388. Talked to Hustler and told me how many owners before me (4 including myself), sold to a dealer in Michigan etc....searching the web I found out that one of the former owners was "Fred Cecil" of Trick Marine (ton of threads on him but not the 388). Found the ad he had on it back in 2005, I know it went to Havasu at some point after that where the 525 SC's were removed for some bigger blower motors etc.... Found a few more pix serarching of it with the blower scoops on it and the name on the back was "PIRATES TOY" with the Pirate Cove Marina decal on the back so I am assuming it was owned by maybe the ower? Guy I bought it from bought it out of LOTO from I am assuming this owner and they pulled that power out and dropped in some 500 carb motors. I have heard from people there were threads on the history of my boat/owners posted here on OSO but I have had little luck in searching to find anything on it. Any of y'all know of it or? Don't know why I am so faciniated with the history other than putting a few puzzle pieces together.
Thanks,
D
Thanks,

It was for sale with the bigger power and scoops on National Liquidatiors circa 2009/2010. Then I saw a pic of it at the Pirates cove being launched about a year later. Looked at the boat many times online. Nice looking piece

Sorry, been MIA busy with work... Yes, 99 388 and had 525SC's from the factory. Knew it was sold to a dealer in Michigan, found out the owner of Trick Marine owned it... Guy I bought it from bought it out of Havasu with bigger power in it... All the life jackets inside, throw ring, everything that was left hidden in the boat had Pirates Cove stamped on it then I found the pic of the transom researching it (attached). When I talked to the guys at Hustler they said I am the 4th owner they know of. You can tell that at some point in its life it wasn't taken care of as well and with my OCD it drives me crazy wondering what the history of this boat has been.

Did a quick search under Customryder and looking it does look like he owned the boat back in/around 05-ish, don't know how long he had it though. I hit him up to see if he can tell me anything. Thanks for the info guys. Anyone else?

Damn. I thought the hatch was already way up here on mine let alone with scoops

Tim at OCM had it listed 2.5 or 3 years ago with those blower motors in it for significantly less than that ad you posted. He told me it was clean and that an older gentlemen had it in a climate controlled garage out there at Havasu. (who knows the truth as recent events have proved him to be a crook). I believe it was there on consignment. Not sure what happened to it after that, this was summer of 2013. Looks like a nice rig good luck on the info search!

Thanks for the info, appreciate it. A guy named Doug is who I bought it from out of LOTO and he bought it from Havasu back in 13 (I bought in September 14). I know Doug took out the big power, put a new hatch on it and was buying it for his son I was told...did some new interior work etc. I think it had sportmasters on it before I bought it but has regular XR lowers on it now and carb'd 500's he bought as take-outs from Cobra...no factory seals, no clue what's been done to them but it is a work in progress.
