Regardless, those new OL's just flat move out for a V!
EDIT: I was just looking at the specs for the 43SV on the OL website, they list the weight at 9000 lbs. (unclear if that's wet or dry). Something doesn't add up...

That's more inline with what I would guess it could run under really good conditions. 120 sounds a little high to me, although, I guess it's possible if they really are <6500 lbs wet & w/ crew... which would be amazing IMO!

This must be Ken...
Ken, have you actually seen the GPS recall showing 120 on that 43/725 boat? That sounds a little faster than I would think. I order to run that speed, that thing would have to tip the scale at around 6500 lbs, wet and loaded. Is it actually that light?
BTW, I agree about the sound, it's hard not to like the sound of those V10's at full song!!!

Assuming the boat weighs 8700 lbs wet (with 300 lbs of crew), 1450 shaft hp, and plugging in 260 as a constant (which is very high for a V bottom, but could be possible for a high tech hull like the OL), the calculator still only shows a max speed of 106 mph. That's way off 120! Assuming your numbers are correct, the hull efficiency would pretty much have to be just about equivalent to that of a full race Skater to achieve 120 mph... which you know as well as I do that's certainly not possible. The only other explinations are those engines are putting out closer to 925 hp each (which is very, very unlikely), the boat is closer to 6500 lbs wet (seems incredibly light for a wet 43!), or the boat doesn't actually run 120... although it could be a little of all of the above, haha!
I'm not saying the boat doesn't run 120, but it certainly seems questionable! Even if it does 'only' run 115, even that is still very impressive to me!

The boat runs 120 on multiple gps's and it does weighs 8400lbs. I weighed it from our scales. The motors only make 725hp as I put the motors in with Ilmor! It ran 118 brand new in Miami with 5 people and over a half tank of fuel. All the stock Mercury 700 boats run 118+. Dont always believe everything that calculator spits out. According to that thing my boat cant possibly run what it does but I see it every single weekend!!
