Divorce forces re-finance

My soon to be ex is wanting her name off the noto on the boat. I want to keep the note because I have a good term & rate. What can I do to get her name off of this short of a re-fi?

unfortunately not much.

unless your current lender will release her without rewriting it at current rates, which I doubt.

Re: Divorce forces re-finance

I been there done that Jason. Fortunately the refi worked well for me at the time as I was able to throw a few bucks at it and the rates were lower than they were originally. I wish to thank my long time friend and 5 time selling dealer for his assistance at that time

If it's hard for you to swing right now, buy yourself some time and say you cant get refi'd, put the boat "up for sale" for the winter for a price that'll keep it from going anywhere, work you ballz-off in the meantime to make sure it happens or is more possible for you by the spring?

she really doesn't have a choice, if your willing to make the payments/expenses, and getting her name off it isn't the flipside of a deal with her that YOU need.
