Default Switching to Allstate

Anyone have any issues with Allstate ? They are quoting me a great rate if I insure the house, car and boat with them.

I have my houses and cars with them, but they won't insure my boat with the power that is in it. it is an 87 cafe racer with 06 496HOs. According to them the standard power for that boat is a pair 6.2 liter motors...which are small blocks...

I dont think they have a clue about performance boasts...

what do you have and what are they quoting you?

I have a 96 Fountain SFC ( sportfishcruiser). It was a low production 32' with stock 454's.
Allstate quoted $535 annual with winter layup.

Have my house and car w/ them here in hurricane alley. They are one of the few still writing policies here. Never had a problem with them. Good agent and staff.

Back int he early 90's when i got off my dads ins lan and went with my own i kept Allstate just because i figured i would get a good deal form my dads ins guy.......well at that time i was paying about $1200/year on my truck and i had a sled and jetski with them as well.....about 2 months before my 25th i get a rate increase notice....going up to $1800/year i call them up and ask whats its going to drop to when i turn 25....lady says $1450 Dropped them and never looked back...she couldnt explain to me why the rate increase was happening in the first place. Been with State Farm ever since and Allstate has tried to get me back numerous times but never could match the Farms rates....
I know everyone has different experiences but this was mine

As an insurance agent, I can say that if you can get AllState to insure your boat... do it. Unfortunately, what I have heard from my boat clients is that their local agent says they can do it. But then after the Allstate Home office underwriter looks at it, they decline and issue a notice of cancellation.
