Angry My umbrella policy just excluded my boat!

I have the boat insured with Markel with E.Porter, that isn't the problem.

My umbrella coverage (same company that insures my house and all my vehicles) just sent me a notice that the boat is excluded due to it's performance.

17 years of boating without one claim too. In fact, I never make any insurance claim.....ever!

Any one else in this predicament? How did you resolve it? or better yet with whom?

Most companies won't even write an umbrella policy unless you have everything with them including house, cars and boat. It doesn't surprise me that they excluded it.

Michael, my umbrella is with state farm and no issues whatsoever, send them a nice letter that you will now be searching for a new insurance company for your home, cars, and even your business...see if they reconsider, if not start looking elsewhere..Who are you with now?
my boat is with ACE, and everything else is with state farm, they wouldn't insure the boat anyhow.

It is Western National through my Independent broker. They never wanted to touch the boat in the first place. They are definitely going to loose all my business. Boat with EP is $4200 a year with layup. House, cars, business is another $6000 a year. Credit score over 800 also. Sheesh.

They refused to insure the boat and were just fine with the arrangement for the last 4 years.
