Ontario Insurance

I need to get insurance on my boat because I want to keep it in a slip at a marina this year. My broker can not find anyone to insure it. I got a lead from here, but they refused me today. They said it was because it was over 15 years old and under $50,000 in value. Does anyone know of someone who would insure an old, cheap, offshore boat in Ontario? Thanks.

Do you have a recent appraisal? Have you tried Premier Marine? They should take it...

Ogilvy & Ogilvy would do it. You can do the quote online. I have an older boat too. They want a survey and they ask you the top speed and hp of your boat.

I bought the boat last year and only got it out a couple of times. I did not have a tow vehicle so I had to rent a truck to tow it. And the weather sucked ass last summer. This summer will be a different story. Hope to see you out there.

No problem re: change of subject. And thanks for all the suggestions.

I got rejected from one because my boat was too powerful for someone with no previous boat insurance experience. But Ogilvy and Ogilvy took it, it appears that I am all set. So this year, I will have a slip on Lake Ontario, instead of trailering, it should be more convenient.
