Don't even mention the word boat
Yea my family does, we had Irie insurance, and Allstate I think. The key is to have all the insurance with them, boat, car, house, and then umbrella covers all the policies under them, so its basically in addition to what you have with them.

It's a little easier when it's all under one roof. I have an Umbrella over everything, including my boat.

when your umbrella is with a company other than the one that insures the boat read ALL the fine print. Make dam sure that the boat and the current boat policy is listed as a part of the umbrella on the policy. They are always looking for an excuse to worm out of paying a claim

You need to make sure the umbrella carrier lists the boat specifically. that is what I have done. They did require that my underlying limits were higher.
