Insurance Companies

I was wondering what happens to boats that are totaled, and the claim is paid? Does the boat go to auctions, salvage yards, ect...? I'm looking for specific places, for example a new 38 Top Gun sank on a local lake a few months back, and was in the water for at least 3 weeks prior to being removed, what would a company do with the boat. Any help would be great.

thanx

I wasn't real specific, but it was the boat that sank in Lake Ray Hubbard during the Poker Run a few months back.
